Chicken Fried Toys Dime Novel Legends 1:18th Action Figures

Created by Chicken Fried Toys, LLC

Welcome to the Backerkit for the the Dime Novel Legends, presented by Chicken Fried Toys. Working with Boss Fight Studio (control art/tampos/consulting) and Smalljoes.com (distribution), these 3.75 to 4 inch action figures are a "little" slice of the Old West. Our figures are fully articulated modern style versions of Iconic Western Heroes and Legends. Each figure features at minimum 17 points of articulation, with removable coats, vest, belts, weapons and hats! These characters are compatible and play alongside with many modern action figure lines such as Boss Fight Studio's own Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S., Star Wars, G.I. Joe, Marauder Task Force, Zombie Lab, Animal Warriors of the Kingdom and more! The lineup is slated to have 11 characters in it's initial offering. Look for more information on our Facebook page as we develop new and exciting offerings for series 1.5 and series 2! Yee-Haw!

Latest Updates from Our Project:

A couple of Facebook pics

Once again, I thought I'd mention that regular updates are largely taking place every couple of days in the Facebook group.  Here are a couple of the recent ones.  I'll keep checking back here periodically, but if you are not a member of that group, you are not getting info and updates as fast.  Thank you!

More pics of the torso closure!

A couple of pics of the screw closure for the plain torso. This should be final, and just need to be added to the suspender torso and these are ready to print. Enjoy!

Next bit of news

Work is close to done on the torso mods so we can have those printed and make master molds to send with everything else going to China.  In this update is a screen shot of how the outside will look on the plain shirt torso.  The suspender torso will be the same, but with the strap detail added down the vertical center of the plug.  Note the small divot to allow you to remove the plug easily.  More updates as soon as available!

Weekly update, and a note
about 7 years ago – Tue, Feb 07, 2017 at 05:52:32 PM

A quick note to start off, I just got a notice that emails have been bouncing back instead of coming through to our inbox.  If you've been trying to email us, expect a response in the next day or so.  I'll be fixing the issue later today.  Sorry for any inconvenience that this has caused anyone.

Weekly update: currently planning to have most all the hard copies done and ready to ship this week. We are waiting on the revised (screw closure) torso to be complete and then printed so I can cast hard copies of that as well. The factory will not start cutting molds without them.

As an aside on the screw closure, we are going to proceed without them in the thighs for now. As long as the clam shell halves of the thighs close properly and maintain good tension without excessive materials erosion in the hip joint from friction, we will leave them off. If they have to be added back later to address any issues of that sort, it will cause a delay.

The screw closure on the torso will have a plug that covers it made. It will most likely be packed in, but not glued in place. More on that as decisions are finalized and a design for it is complete along with the screw closure itself.

The digital sculptor is also busy adding numbers to certain parts to help prevent confusion in assembled on similar looking parts. This will prevent any issues along those lines hopefully and preempt any mis-assembled figures in production.

That's all for now.

Note about updates and current progress

Minor update on where things are:

I am trying to get finished with resin hard copies to send to China when they return from New Years break in about a week. Will have photos of those before they ship out.

Once that's done, I'll get back to work finishing up the inputs for the Backerkit survey. It's a long process, and right now it's just me working on it, so first things first.

Lastly, please check here for updates first. You may have to read through a few comments on whatever is at the top of the page, as I answer questions here as they pop up in conversation.

Thanks!
