Chicken Fried Toys Dime Novel Legends 1:18th Action Figures

Created by Chicken Fried Toys, LLC

Welcome to the Backerkit for the the Dime Novel Legends, presented by Chicken Fried Toys. Working with Boss Fight Studio (control art/tampos/consulting) and Smalljoes.com (distribution), these 3.75 to 4 inch action figures are a "little" slice of the Old West. Our figures are fully articulated modern style versions of Iconic Western Heroes and Legends. Each figure features at minimum 17 points of articulation, with removable coats, vest, belts, weapons and hats! These characters are compatible and play alongside with many modern action figure lines such as Boss Fight Studio's own Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S., Star Wars, G.I. Joe, Marauder Task Force, Zombie Lab, Animal Warriors of the Kingdom and more! The lineup is slated to have 11 characters in it's initial offering. Look for more information on our Facebook page as we develop new and exciting offerings for series 1.5 and series 2! Yee-Haw!

Latest Updates from Our Project:

And now for something completely different...pt 2.

If you guys listened in on the Live KS Q&A tonight and haven't been keeping up with things on the Facebook page, then you might have seen something we are working on to go with your figures once they arrive.

Our buddy Joe Harris at D&J Toys has been working hard on a Western Town play-set for us.  It's based (but heavily modified) on the very rare 1980 Lone Ranger Western Town mail-away play-set.  It has been re-sized to accommodate our larger figures and has a working jail cell (instead of a jail closet) and swinging door in the saloon entrance.

There are 3-Dimensional details (lamps, signs and a hitching post) as well as a working footlocker.  Interior and exterior surfaces are covered in high quality sticker paper, and laid over laser cut plastic sheet for durability and a sturdy play surface.

We plan to offer this for sale outside the KS in the Spring once everyone has recovered from the holiday season and it's effect on your wallets.  Expected retail will be $150 per set.  I hope you guys dig it!  I know I sure do.

No Boss Fight Studio H.A.C.K.S. were harmed in the taking of these photos.  They belong to Joe, and you cannot have them with the playsets.  Sorry!

Added the "Most Wanted" 5 pack or portraits today to the lineup of rewards.  It's automatically added to "All-IN!" pledges and is available to everyone else for an additional $12 pledge.

All 5 heads are painted in a different set of colors than they are on the basic figures.  There is one change that remains to be made to the set, but you can get the idea.

 Thanks!  -CFT

Last Stand at Kickstarter Creek!: The Compositing?
over 7 years ago – Tue, Nov 01, 2016 at 07:13:00 PM

Here is a very quick and dirty knock-up of the 10 figures now guaranteed in the "All-IN!" package along with the Badlands Vigilante.  I'll see about getting something nicer put together in the next day to post in the KS details with it's announcement.  Please, take a moment and share this information around to folks, as most rarely read in full when things get tweaked and we want to make sure they have the correct information!  -CFT

Last Stand at Kickstarter Creek!
over 7 years ago – Mon, Oct 31, 2016 at 08:56:43 PM

As I noted yesterday (and many times before over the last several weeks) we've been eyeing a couple of solutions for providing a good value for the "All-IN!" backers, and it's taken some finagling. We value the commitment necessary to support our freshman outing of action figures, and have stated from the beginning that supporters at that level deserve rewards for bearing the larger portion of financial burden for all others involved.

To ensure a reasonable return for your pledge (beyond seeing the line made), we are going to add an additional 5 unique characters to your pledge level. These figures will be automatically added, and will become available to "All-IN!" backers (and above) along with the initial offerings and the added "Most Wanted" 5 pack of mug shots.

"All-IN!" reward level:

  • Marshal
  • Territories Lawman
  • Trail Boss
  • Saloon Bartender
  • Ranch Hand
  • KP Trooper
  • Sharpshooter
  • Fire Brigadier
  • Cowpuncher
  • Man in Black
  • Cardinal Red T-Shirt
  • Sticker
  • Boot Hill Loot Gear #1
  • Boot Hill Loot Accs #1
  • Buck-A-Roo #1
  • Most Wanted head 5 pk
  • Badlands Vigilante

As you may note, the KP Trooper is now automatically added instead of being reliant on the unlock of the Badlands Vigilante to the rest of the pledges. You will still have the option to add a second Badlands Vigilante if those unlock conditions are met (it appears they will be) before the end of the KS campaign. Also included is the first set of Boot Hill Loot (accs & gear) as well as the first Buck-A-Roo automatically.

We hope that this guarantee of items whether they are unlocked or not, will give you confidence to maintain your pledge and see this lineup come to market. Once again, thank you for your support at these high levels.

This is the last set of changes we'll be making to the KS campaign. As stated above, and previously, once the budget structure is set, it's very difficult to move things around, but we've managed to do it to reward the "All-IN!" backers. Once again, thank you for your support!  -CFT

These changes will necessitate a change in the placement of the characters unlocks, but not alter their order in the levels at which characters will become available to the public at large.  Check for those changes later today.

Plans within plans...

As you may have noticed (and some have remarked on) there has not been much in the way of updates the last couple of days.  I have found that when I am unhappy about a situation, that it's best to refrain from talking about anything online.  That's all that needs to be said about that.

The bouncing up and down over full funding was expected to an extent.  We knew it would happen, as people realized that their pledges would now be required at the end, and other folks backed out of the project altogether.  This is beyond our control, and no amount of fretting and second guessing will alleviate any of that as it happens.  We have faith in our plan, and encourage you guys to do the same and exercise patience to see what develops over the next few days.

One of the things we've worked on over the last 10 days was finding a way to add a very requested set of items to the KS.  We don't have color samples to show yet, but we will be adding a package of 5 heads to the reward level options.  This 5 pack of heads will be fully painted (colors have already been chosen) and it will be included in the "All-IN!" packages at no extra charge.  All other pledge levels will have the option to choose it by adding an additional $12 to their preexisting pledge.

We have spent a lot of time over the last two weeks discussing options to maintain value for the "All-IN!" pledge level, and are ready to make that announcement.  Look for that information to be shared tomorrow evening.  It's a good plan that is feasible for us to implement financially, and will provide a good value guarantee for the backers who have proven to be the bread and butter of the campaign.  We thank you for that.

Check tomorrow night for the update regarding that pledge level, and we'll see you on the other side.  -CFT
