Chicken Fried Toys Dime Novel Legends 1:18th Action Figures

Created by Chicken Fried Toys, LLC

Welcome to the Backerkit for the the Dime Novel Legends, presented by Chicken Fried Toys. Working with Boss Fight Studio (control art/tampos/consulting) and Smalljoes.com (distribution), these 3.75 to 4 inch action figures are a "little" slice of the Old West. Our figures are fully articulated modern style versions of Iconic Western Heroes and Legends. Each figure features at minimum 17 points of articulation, with removable coats, vest, belts, weapons and hats! These characters are compatible and play alongside with many modern action figure lines such as Boss Fight Studio's own Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S., Star Wars, G.I. Joe, Marauder Task Force, Zombie Lab, Animal Warriors of the Kingdom and more! The lineup is slated to have 11 characters in it's initial offering. Look for more information on our Facebook page as we develop new and exciting offerings for series 1.5 and series 2! Yee-Haw!

Latest Updates from Our Project:

Minor update this morning!
over 7 years ago – Wed, Oct 19, 2016 at 11:54:40 PM

In addition to the news regarding the Badlands Vigilante figure yesterday evening, here are the first looks at Buck-A-Roo #1, and Buck-A-Roo #2.

First two composites are ready to show the colors on the Buck-A-Roos blanks and have been added to the KS page. Colors were done by Catrina at Boss Fight Studio, and composites by trusty old David. Be sure to read the special notes on each guy, as there may be a surprise or two in there.

Look for more Buck-A-Roos color updates on the Facebook page as well as on the KS page with the first look at color and parts assortment of Boot Hill Loot accs sets to follow.  Thanks!  -CFT

And here it is...

You've asked for it, and as a result of the gracious agreement by a majority of our "All-IN!" pledge backers, we are going to make the Badlands Vigilante available to non-"All-IN!" pledges. But wait! Like all good things, this is going to require getting a little dirty.

The Badlands Vigilante will be a "faux" unlock once two requirements are met. The first step towards this unlock is that we must reach 555 pledges or more. For a new pledge to count towards the total for this unlock, it must be at $100 or above. If backers can get these two steps taken care of before the KS campaign is over, then all backers whose pledge level is at $100 or more, will be able to add-on the Badlands Vigilante for $25 each plus combined shipping with your other reward items.

⦁ 555 or more pledges total

⦁ All new pledges must $100 or higher to count towards the total

⦁ Eligible pledges levels are $100 or above before adding the Badlands Vigilante figure

In addition and by way of reward for agreeing to share, the "All-IN!" level packages and above will now have a Garrison KP Trooper added to their loot at no extra charge, and be eligible to purchase a second copy of the Badlands Vigilante for $25. This is option is limited to "All-IN!" packages and above for driving the funding of this project at the highest levels.

So, like, tweet, share, or telegraph our information everywhere. Tell your family, your friends, your co-workers, anyone with a passing interest in action figures or the American West. With our group of Regulators working together, this should be easy as we gallop towards full funding.

There does remain one "add-on" item that will be listed once the color renders are done. This final "add-on" will be included with the "All-IN!" package (and above), and will be available to purchase to all other backer levels. We will announce what it is after the color sheets for the Buck-A-Roos and Boot Hill Loot are completed later this week and start to be revealed.

Thank you! -CFT

Same old, same old...
over 7 years ago – Sun, Oct 16, 2016 at 07:19:47 PM

Today we are going to look at prints of some of the firearms in our lineup.  Firearms (pistols especially) are difficult to get just right for this scale.  True 1:18 is too small in appearance, and then there is the matter of the hammers and trigger guards being fragile.  We've gone through at least 3 or 4 revisions on each part and at least 3 prints getting things right.  What an expensive learning experience!

  • First up the the classic Peacemaker pistol.  It was very common in the Old West, and very robust and just all around solid.  It's why they still exist in the same format to this day.

  • Next up the the Outlaw pistol.  It has a very unique profile due to the triangular shaped bar under the barrel.  This added weight to the front half of the firearm quelled some muzzle rise when shot.

  • The Hogleg pistol is an overall heavier frame and beefier firearm.  It was originally designed to replace the old powder and ball pistols that preceded it and was very successful due to it's hammer-like durability.  This model has a 7 inch barrel.

That's it for the pistols, with more firearms to follow later.  Here are a couple of images of the stagecoach prototype that would be the final unlock (for tooling only) for this Kickstarter campaign.  Nothing I'd love better than to tell Dennis to get started on the digital sculpt for this crown jewel piece and the horses to go with it, so you know what you have to do if you want to see it!

  •  I am uncertain if you can tell, but this vehicle is designed to sit 8 full size figures.  Also, your color choice (from the upcoming poll) for the Create Your Own Cowboy repaint will be packed in as a bonus!

I'll not take a lot of time typing up much else today, but encourage you to like, tweet, share and point out the KS page and FB page to your friends who also collection action figures in this scale.  You never know who might be interested and willing to support the campaign!

Thank you!  -CFT
