Chicken Fried Toys Dime Novel Legends 1:18th Action Figures

Created by Chicken Fried Toys, LLC

Welcome to the Backerkit for the the Dime Novel Legends, presented by Chicken Fried Toys. Working with Boss Fight Studio (control art/tampos/consulting) and Smalljoes.com (distribution), these 3.75 to 4 inch action figures are a "little" slice of the Old West. Our figures are fully articulated modern style versions of Iconic Western Heroes and Legends. Each figure features at minimum 17 points of articulation, with removable coats, vest, belts, weapons and hats! These characters are compatible and play alongside with many modern action figure lines such as Boss Fight Studio's own Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S., Star Wars, G.I. Joe, Marauder Task Force, Zombie Lab, Animal Warriors of the Kingdom and more! The lineup is slated to have 11 characters in it's initial offering. Look for more information on our Facebook page as we develop new and exciting offerings for series 1.5 and series 2! Yee-Haw!

Latest Updates from Our Project:

Lot's of info, cram it all in there!
over 7 years ago – Sat, Oct 22, 2016 at 09:27:41 AM

Several items this morning!  If you didn't see yesterday, we have an anonymous donor who is matching new "All-IN!" pledges up to $10K on his side which will net about a $20K gain overall for us.  Get in on this action!

Also, the Badlands Vigilante unlock is moving right along!  32 qualifying pledges towards the unlock already, with only 192 more to go.  Very nice work all!

We are sitting squarely at 87% funding for our initial goal.  You all know what happens when we reach $125,000 so like, share and tweet our info everywhere you can.  Let's get into those stretch goals!

We have also added images of all 5 Buck-A-Roos to the main page for you to see, and the first two Boot Hill Loot accessory sets as well, with the rest to follow as they are completed.  Keep checking back!

Finally this morning, here is another entry in out Digital Details files for you.  Up to bat the morning is the mug of the Ranch Hand.  Based on the likeness of my partner Paul, this stable of the cattle drive is clean cut for a night out on the town, surely spending up all his pay!

That will be all the information for this morning.  Have a pleasant Saturday, and let's see if we can get these numbers well over the $115K mark today!  -CFT

Update for the evening!
over 7 years ago – Fri, Oct 21, 2016 at 08:42:38 PM

Big gains today to the tune of about $8,000 to our totals.  The anonymous donor has already added in their pledge for today, so anything past this point will go on tomorrow's total.  We appreciate everyone who is doing what they can, and it all adds up!

For tonight's preview, we are going to take a peek at the first composite images for the Boot Hill Loot accessory sets #1 and #2.  Catrina did a fine job on the colors with David as usual on the final composite.

As you can see in set #1, the bib-front shirt is a match for Buck-A-Roo #1 to allow you to add it to that figure if you want.  There will be other parts that dovetail with Bucks and I'll try to note them for you as we reveal these accessory and gear sets.

That's all for the moment.  Thanks for coming along, and don't forget to share this KS campaign with your friends, family and fellow collectors!  -CFT

Buck-A-Roo blank #5 and a note!
over 7 years ago – Fri, Oct 21, 2016 at 06:59:21 PM

Here's a quick look at the 5th and final Buck-A-Roo from the KS unlocks.  We're pretty pleased with the way all of these turned out, and think Catrina from Boss Fight Studio did a fine job on the colors.  Dastardly Dave on the composition as well.

Also of special note, is a thank you to all our supporters for helping us reach the $100,000 milestone yesterday!  It's a nice round number, and feels good to have hit it!

Guys, no pressure, but now is the time when we need backers to really step up and start pushing this KS and it's info to everyone else. We've gotten some major big steps out of the way, but just take a minute once a day from now to the end and post the KS link somewhere. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, a forum, a blog...anywhere.

We have to start looking outside the usual group of action figure fans and try reaching those people who just like the Old West in video games, literature, and on TV. To do that successfully is going to take a concerted effort on your part. We are pushing it everywhere too, but it's going to have to be all of us doing it, to make some headway with that crowd.

Seriously, just take one minute a day and put a link somewhere. Mention it to someone. That's all it's going to take, and I hope you think that the rewards will be worth the effort in a little over a year when these figures start rolling in. Thanks! -CFT

Anonymous Backer Pledge Matching!
over 7 years ago – Fri, Oct 21, 2016 at 03:28:24 PM

Okay, here is the break we have all been waiting for. An anonymous donor who very much believes in our project has reached out, and has indicated that they would be willing to pledge match a set dollar amount to our campaign with only one caveat.

They are willing to pledge match up to $10,000 to the KS, BUT only at the "All-IN!" level or above. Their thought is to use the money they have to gain ground on our total as quickly as possible. We believe that this is a good plan, and have agreed.

So, beginning today, any new pledge at the "All-IN!" level or any pledge that upgrades from a lower pledge level will be matched for the dollar amount increase. That means a new pledge will be at the full amount ($450), and any upgrade to an "All-IN!" will be matched at the increase in that existing pledge amount ($115 + $335 = $450).

This is a serious chance for us to move up very quickly towards unlocks, which is what we are all looking for. Take a moment, do a little math, and jump in on this KS campaign if you are interested in the products. This is also a great chance to bring in friends/family/other collectors and have their pledges count the most. Don't let this chance pass you by!

Current totals:

352 Backers (up 21 on our Badlands Vigilante unlock)

Current pledge total: $101,124 (80% funded towards initial goal)

Days remaining: 22

"All-IN!" pledges: 135

Next two Buck-A-Roos blank figures and a *BONUS*!
over 7 years ago – Thu, Oct 20, 2016 at 12:20:36 PM

Quick update this morning showing the color palettes for the #3 and #4 Buck-A-Roos blank figures.  Once again, I remind you that these "pop & swap" at the waist just like the Marauder Task Force figures and will interchange with them for many different combinations when customizing the appearance of our figures to suit your personal tastes.

Also included in this morning's update, someone previously requested seeing an exploded digital view of the figure, but I am going to do you one better:  an exploded view of the 3D printed parts of the Marshal figure before mold making for resin hard copies.

A quick note about this photo:  the knee pins are missing, and the joints are all missing the flared retainer that you would normally see at their ends.  When assembling a 3D printed figure, those are usually left off to prevent any breakage or extra difficulty when trying to assemble the very fragile parts.

Have a good day and "Giddyup Goldenrod!  Sally forth!"  -CFT
